# How To:

01 - Arrange 8 clear cups with 6-8 oz capacity on a work surface.
02 - Dissolve red gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, stirring for 2 minutes. Add 1/2 cup cold water and stir. Divide mixture evenly among cups (approximately 2 tablespoons per cup). Position cups at a slight angle using a muffin tin as support. Refrigerate for 45-60 minutes until completely set.
03 - In a clean bowl, sprinkle unflavored gelatin over 1/2 cup cold water and allow to bloom for 5 minutes. Pour 1/2 cup boiling water over gelatin and stir until fully dissolved. Stir in sweetened condensed milk until well combined. Cool mixture to room temperature before using.
04 - Once red layer is completely set, position cups upright. Slowly pour white gelatin mixture over red layer (approximately 2 tablespoons per cup). Return cups to refrigerator for 45-60 minutes until firmly set.
05 - Dissolve blue gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, stirring for 2 minutes. Add 1/2 cup cold water and stir thoroughly. Allow to cool to room temperature.
06 - Once white layer is firmly set, slowly pour cooled blue gelatin over white layer (approximately 2 tablespoons per cup). Refrigerate upright for at least 2 hours until fully set.
07 - Top each cup with whipped cream and garnish with fresh blueberries and strawberries if desired.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • They look impressive enough for parties but genuinely anyone can pull them off without fussing.
  • Each layer has a different texture—wiggly, creamy, wiggly—which keeps every spoonful interesting.
  • You can make them a day ahead and forget about them until it's time to eat.
02 -
  • If you skip proper cooling and pour warm gelatin over set layers, everything will blend into a muddy mess—the patience part is actually the whole point.
  • Angling the first layer in a muffin tin genuinely works and keeps the red from pooling at the bottom of the cup.
03 -
  • If a layer cracks while chilling, you can usually hide the damage when you pour the next layer—imperfection is part of homemade charm.
  • Clear cups matter because half the appeal is actually seeing those three perfect stripes through the glass.
